Exmouth in the west to Studland in the east, has now been recognised as one
of the wonders of the natural world - on account of the unique complete
record it displays of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods of
Earths history (over 185 million years!). Here at Ladram, the impressive red
sandstone cliffs and sea stacks are formed from deposits laid down in hot,
dry desert conditions 225 million years ago.
The Jurassic Coast is stunningly
beautiful, with an unparalleled range of natural features, including
landslides, beaches, coves and cliffs. The geology has shaped and
influenced the landscape and wildlife of the whole area, much of which is
also designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ladram is the
